Las Vegas

Just before Thanksgiving, the four of us went to Las Vegas for a couple of days of buffet-eating, watching the dancing fountains, visiting the M&M store and explaining gambling to our children. We also drove over to the Hoover Dam... a very cool man-made wonder. Well worth the drive.

Halloween

Because we were in town for Ellen & Rick's wedding on 10/30, we were also in town for Halloween! We spent the first half of the evening trick-or-treating with Chris's family, including our 3 nephews and our niece in Park Hills. And then we headed over to Grandma & Papa Otte's house to trick-or-treat again with Aunti Em, Auntie Erin & Uncle Tyler. It was SO much fun in both neighborhoods... I was hoping next Halloween fell on a weekend too.

Virginia/Soccer

So Chris has taken like...... 500 pictures of Virginia playing soccer this fall. I have picked out a few of the best to share. She is loving soccer... she runs fast, kicks hard and smiles the whole time. She has scored a couple of goals for her team, the Green Fairies. Enjoy!

San Diego Safari Park

On 10/10/10 we made a day-trip to San Diego to visit the newly re-named San Diego Safari Park. It was a really lovely day and we had a wonderful time.

All right, everyone... here is the first installment of pictures from our road trip to Texas! I've started with my pictures instead of Chris's, because there were about 1000 fewer of them. So you can get an overview now and then come back later to get a more detailed, high res. experience. :) This set of pics goes from our departure from Moorpark on July 10th until we left San Antonio to meet the rest of the Borths family near Houston on July 16th. It includes our stops at the Grand Canyon, the Painted Desert and Petrified Forest, Roswell NM and San Antonio.

Cherry Picking

Back on June 13th, we went up to the Leona Valley (and 1.5 hours from Moorpark) and picked cherries! You can't grow cherries in most of SoCal, but in this particular valley they flourish. It was a lot of fun and the cherries were very yummy! Leona Valley is close to the KOA we went camping at in May, so I think next year we'll make a whole weekend of it!

New dSLR Camera!

For his birthday this year, Chris got a digital SLR camera. Because the film SLR that we got for our wedding that we "could use forever" was obsolete about 7 years ago. :( Here are some of the first pictures he took... The last series of Virginia and John are from Easter Sunday.
